An Elder Statesman from the Western Senatorial District of Kogi State, Chief Richard Asaje has pleaded with Kogi State Government and former Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello to forgive Facebook User, Real MamaKogi over her inciting comment about the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Chief Asaje while reacting to Real MamaKogi’s post that has landed her in trouble, pointed out that her comments were taken too far in her efforts at supporting Yahaya Bello, but said such was done out of ignorance.
He stressed the need for media practitioners, content creators and other social media users to be professional in dealings and as well, uphold the ethics of the profession.
Chief Asaje who is the Convener and National Coordinator of the Like Minds Alliance Pressure Group, said though everyone has freedom of expression but such should be within the purview of the law with guided utterances.
“One thing everyone should be conscious of at all times consequences of every action (s) taken. In trying to show her support, she has crossed the line with her words
“All we are pleading for is that His Excellencies should please temper justice with mercy. We know she has crossed the line already. Let this serves as a warning to her and others out there. Please, forgive her”, he added.
