The 614km natural gas pipeline project – Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline in Nigeria, have been described as one that will help the Country attain Gas Prosperity.
The House of Representatives Member Representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem (SEA) gave the assurance at the Kogi State AKK Business Development Forum organized by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in Lokoja, the State Capital.
The Reps Member in his speech said Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lawmakers are keen to ensuring that the project is actualized in the Country in view of its economic importance and the employment opportunities inherent in it.
“One of the first Bill signed into law when His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR came into Office was Electricity Bill in 2023 to regulate electricity Business in the Country. All the States were given the power to domesticate the law and Kogi State happened to be first out of five other States that has domesticated the Law
“As a Parliamentarian, I am assuring us that Members of the Parliament are ready and the President is interested and keen to the transformation of our dear Country – Nigeria and some Bills that will aid this gas Prosperity have been signed into law while some are undergoing process”, he said.
The Lawmaker commended Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo for creating the avenue for both investors and Community stakeholders to interact, stressing that such will no doubt create a friendly working environment in the course of the Project execution, urging more investors to come and invest in the State blessed with abundant resources.
“Many thanks to the State Governor, His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo for creating this robust platform to discuss with Communities where MoU will be properly signed for a win-win game where gas Prosperity will be attained.
“I assure you all that Ajaokuta is a safe haven for every investors within and outside the Country. So come and invest in Kogi State”, SEA added.
The 614-kilometer AKK natural gas pipeline that will transport gas from Ajaokuta in Kogi State to Kano in Northern Nigeria was developed by the NNPC to provide natural gas as feedstock for new power and petrochemical plants in northern Nigeria and is considered a landmark infrastructure project for the Country.
