The Sub-Committee of youths from Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone, chaired by the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Hon. Dr. Gaza Gwamna, has visited Senator Abdullahi Adamu (Turakin Keffi), at his country home, Keffi local government area on a strategic solidarity and thank you visit.
Senator Adamu, an elder statesman and political icon who has served as the Governor of Nasarawa State and later as the Senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District until 2022 and as well National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC).
His leadership and political career have made him a respected figure among the youths and political circles in the State.
The delegation comprised young people from all five local government areas in Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone: Keffi, Karu, Kokona, Nasarawa, and Toto.
The visit’s key purpose was to show unwavering support and solidarity with Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who champions the zoning of Nasarawa State’s next governorship to Nasarawa West Senatorial District.
The delegation, drawn from the Consultative Committee formed by Senator Adamu, praised his leadership, courage, and commitment to fairness and political balance in the state.
Hon. Gaza Gwamna, the delegation leader and Chairman of the Youth Mobilization sub-committee, stressed unity among the zone’s youth, highlighting that zoning is about overall political equity rather than personal or party interests.
Dr. Gwamna, who is also the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Health, emphasized Nasarawa West’s significant contribution to the state’s growth and argued it deserves to produce the governor after a 23-year gap.
The delegation also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his dedication to developing Nasarawa State, citing his administration’s projects. They pledged steadfast support for any candidate the governor endorses.
Senator Abdullahi Adamu responded with gratitude, lauding the delegation’s political maturity and urging them to remain united, peaceful, and loyal in advancing the zone’s interests.
He also praised Governor Sule’s efforts toward peacebuilding and economic progress.
Further reinforcing their campaign, the delegation visited Emir Chindo Yamusa III of Keffi, seeking his moral and traditional backing for the zoning initiative.
The Emir praised the youth for their peaceful and politically aware approach, urging continued unity and advocacy within respectful and peaceful frameworks.
Comrade Muhammad Ja’afar Loko, Secretary of the Sub-Committee, and Nasarawa State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), assured the youths’ commitment to mobilizing grassroots support and continued engagement with stakeholders to realize the zoning goal peacefully.
The visit signaled a growing consultation process aimed at broad-based support for zoning, reflecting Nasarawa West’s collective desire for fairness, justice, and inclusiveness in state politics.
Attendees included commissioners, lawmakers, advisers, and local government chairmen, alongside youth representatives from all 59 electoral wards in Nasarawa West.
