Crisis looms at Benin Club’s Golf Section amid new fraud allegations
…..As Investigative committee set to clear Usoh without investigating account statements and details

The President of Benin Club, Dr Isibor Evbaziegbere from available information is said to be supporting the impunity been carried out at the golf section of the Benin Club because of next year’s election.
Dr Isibor who has not reacted to the massive fraud surrounding the repairs of the Sienna bus and the involvement of the Captain Mr Stephen Ebaretonbofa and Barr Emmanuel Usoh is seen by some members as a disaster waiting to happen under his watch if not well managed.
Meanwhile, the investigative committee constituted by the Captain and headed by Barr Lawson Ugiagbe is set to clear Barr Usoh over the fraudulent practices surrounding the repairs of the section’s Sienna bus with a lone voice Mr Mayer Ologbosere objecting to the mode of investigation and fraudulent clearance.
While the statement of account of the accountant who transferred the money to Barr Usoh was not requested for, it was equally discovered that the letter of response given to the investigative committee by Barr Usoh was different from the one posted on the Benin Club Golf Section forum on the 11th of April 2025.
While a member of the section overhead a member of the committee telling the chairman of Mavricks Kitty Group that they have cleared Usoh, it remains to be seen if a club can investigative crime against the laws of the land.
While Stephen Ebaretonbofa from available information has been promising the President votes from the golf section hence his support of the impunity happening at the section, Barr Emmanuel Usoh has been in secret talk with the president to help suppress the sienna bus fraud while he handles the case between Benin club vs Jefferson Uwoghiren pro bono.
Another fraud rocking the section currently was the removal of Barr Emmanuel Usoh’s name from the debtors list by the Vice Captain Barr Victor Oriasotie before the Half Year General meeting held on the 20th of July 2025.
Emmanuel Usoh has been indebeted to the section to the tune of #281,500 since December 2024 and as treasurer issued a letter of non indebtedness to himself to allow him contest as secretary of the section in January 2025.
During the half year General meeting held on the 20th of July 2025, his name was removed from the debtors list fraudulently by Barr Victor Oriasotie to allow him conduct the affairs of the half year General meeting and equally vote during the proceedings which is against the byelaws of the golf section and the constitution of Benin Club as amended.
Confusion at the half year General meeting resulted in the suspension of Eghosa Otabor, Pro Okoro Chukwudi and Efosa Iyamu by the Disciplinary Committee led Mr Ralph Irorere who is now seen by many as not truthful
Mr Ralph Irorere who was in charge of the Edo State security trust funds under Governor Godwin Obaseki and resigned after telling people that Governor Obaseki does not follow guidelines and laid down rules is now the head of a sub committee at the golf section that is not trustworthy by all standard
A few weeks ago, an Air Vice Marshal, Aliyu Hassan Rtd was suspended for daring to report a criminal matter to the law enforcement agency.
