…..Urge public and party members to disregard Ogga’s statement entirely

The Kebbi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed a recent statement claimed to be from Hon. Kingsley T. Ogga, representing the ADC State Chairmen Forum, which reaffirmed Engr. Bala Sufiyanu as the party’s chairman in Kebbi State and threatened disciplinary action against Dr. Sadeeq Sule-Iko Sami, PhD.

The ADC Kebbi chapter refuted the statement and reaffirmed Dr. Sadeeq Sule-Iko Sami as the legitimate state chairman, describing any claim supporting Engr. Bala Sufiyanu’s chairmanship as false.

The Kebbi ADC chapter disclosed that the suspension of Dr. Sule-Iko was not recognized and warned against accepting any statements from him that do not represent the official party position.

The party indicated it operated under the directive that state executives remain in office until May 2026 and that Engr. Sufiyanu’s claim to chairmanship is considered unauthorized by the official party leadership.

In a rejoinder signed by the Head of Media, Haj. Zalihat Mohd Damu, on behalf of the Kebbi State ADC Stakeholders, the party described a statement made by Hon. Kingsley T. Ogga as misleading, unauthorized, and without constitutional backing.

The statement attributed to Ogga purported to reaffirm Engr. Bala Sufiyanu as the party’s chairman in Kebbi State and threatened disciplinary measures against Dr. Sadeeq Sule-Iko Sami.

However, the Kebbi State ADC Stakeholders rejected this statement, emphasizing that the ADC Chairmen Forum lacks jurisdiction or authority over state chapters.

They affirmed that the leadership and administration of each state chapter remain the exclusive responsibility of the State Executive Committee recognized by the National Working Committee of the ADC, and any external interference violates party discipline.

The public and party members were advised to disregard Ogga’s statement entirely

“The general public and members of our great party are advised to disregard the publication in its entirety,” the statement read. “The ADC Chairmen Forum has no jurisdiction or authority to interfere in the internal affairs of any state chapter of the party.”

According to the rejoinder, the administration and leadership of each state chapter remain the exclusive responsibility of the State Executive Committee, duly recognized by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ADC. Any attempt by an external group to override legitimate decisions at the state level, it added, constitutes a gross violation of party discipline.

Reaffirming the leadership of Dr. Sadeeq Sule-Iko Sami, PhD, as the valid and recognized ADC Chairman in Kebbi State, the statement emphasized that his nomination was made by the state’s party stakeholders and duly acknowledged by the National Headquarters.

The Kebbi ADC Stakeholders also cautioned members of the ADC Chairmen Forum to focus on consolidating the party’s strength within their respective states ahead of the 2027 general elections rather than engaging in divisive and unprofessional conduct.

“Such interference undermines party unity and distracts from our collective mission of building the ADC as a credible political alternative across Nigeria,” the statement continued.

It concluded by affirming that the Kebbi State chapter under Dr. Sadeeq Sule-Iko Sami remains united, focused, and committed to the growth of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and to upholding the principles of internal democracy.
