Mada Youth Summit: Wadada Preaches Unity for State’s Progress

The Senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, has urged communities across the state to shun divisive tendencies and embrace peaceful coexistence irrespective of ethnic or religious differences for the collective progress of the state.
Senator Wadada made the call during the 2025 Mada Youth Summit and Maiden Magazine unveiling organized by the Mada Development Association (MDA) Youth Wing, Kokona Branch, held at Kennebeih Hall, Garaku.
With the theme “Repositioning Mada Youth for Unity, Peace and Progress,” the 2025 Mada Youth Summit and Maiden Magazine Unveiling, brought together youth, traditional rulers, government officials, illustrious sons and daughters of Mada from across Nasarawa State to discuss the role of young people in fostering peace, unity, and sustainable development.
Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, urged communities to rise above ethnic and religious differences that threaten peaceful coexistence, and emphasized the need for unity and mutual respect for one another.
“I call on all communities in Nasarawa State to shun divisive tendencies and embrace one another in peace, regardless of ethnic or religious differences.”
Guest Speaker and Senior Lecturer at the University of Abuja, Dr. Jiriko Gajere Nzeghi, delivered an in-depth presentation on the summit’s theme and highlighted the importance of unity, collaboration, and patience among Nigerians.
“The youth must work together, not in competition, but in cooperation, to achieve the collective vision of peace and progress.”
Other dignitaries, including member representing Kokona East Constituency, Daniel Ogah Ogazi, representatives of Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency, Jonathan Gaza Gbefwi, Director General of the National Directorate of Employment, Silas Ali Agara, Chairman of Kokona Local Government Council, Agbawu Mek Agbawu, and Ambassador Ezekiel Yakubu, commended the association for their initiative, describing the summit as a unifying platform that strengthens inter-community understanding.
In their goodwill messages, Elder Anthony Sani, Professor Silas Gyar, and National Vice President of MDA Professor Ayuba Dandauka, called for greater unity among the Mada people and reaffirmed their support for youth-driven initiatives aimed at promoting tolerance, capacity building, and economic empowerment.
Earlier in a welcome address, Chairman of the Mada Development Association Youth Wing, Kokona Branch, Comrade Kyune Obadiah Zwebe, explained that the summit was conceived to strengthen unity of purpose and create opportunities for Mada youth to reach their full potential.
The 2025 Mada Youth Summit featured the unveiling of the maiden edition of the Mada Youth Magazine, recognition of distinguished personalities for their contributions to community development, and vibrant cultural performances that showcased the rich culture of Mada people.
