The families of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and Chief Brodericks Arigbodi have concluded the marriage celebrations of their children, Innocent Oborevwori and Tobore Arigbodi, with a thanksgiving service and prayers for a successful marital journey.
The service was held on Sunday at Living Faith Church, Ibusa Road, Asaba.more
Governor Oborevwori, who spoke after the service, said the successful completion of the marriage ceremonies was made possible by God’s grace
He expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the families during the traditional marriage, church wedding, reception and thanksgiving.we
According to the governor, God provided protection, favourable weather and journey mercies for guests who travelled from different locations to participate in the celebrations.
“From the traditional marriage to the church wedding and now this thanksgiving service, God has been with us every step on the way,” Oborevwori said.
The governor said the turnout was remarkable, noting that some people attended the ceremonies even though they were not formally invited.
He appreciated all those who contributed to the success of the celebrations and prayed that the newlyweds would enjoy a peaceful, prosperous and fruitful marriage.
He also prayed that the couple would build their home around their faith in God
The father of the bride, Chief Brodericks Arigbodi, similarly thanked God for the successful ceremonies
Arigbodi said the wedding marked the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of the couple.
He disclosed that the traditional marriage took place in Isiokolo on August 26 and thanked relatives, friends and well-wishers who travelled from across Nigeria and beyond to celebrate with the families.
The father of the bride urged the couple to make God the foundation of their marriage.
He advised them to remain committed to each other and allow Christian principles to guide their decisions.
Arigbodi also prayed that God would preserve their union, strengthen their love and help them fulfil their dreams.
Earlier, Pastor Samuel Johns used his sermon to encourage Christians to take responsibility for their health.
While emphasising the importance of faith, Johns advised believers to avoid habits that could negatively affect their bodies.
He also prayed for healing and restoration for worshippers facing difficulties and offered prayers for peace, progress and prosperity in Nigeria.
The thanksgiving service brought to a close a series of marriage celebrations that brought together members of the Oborevwori and Arigbodi families, friends, political associates, traditional rulers and well-wishers.
