As preparations intensify for the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship election, the Ahmed Aliyu Wadada Project Campaign Council has appointed Yahaya Idris Toto as Head of Media and Publicity for its Toto Local Government Area structure.
The appointment is expected to strengthen the campaign council’s communication strategy and improve its engagement with voters, political stakeholders and community groups across the local government.
A statement signed by the Toto LG Coordinator of the campaign council, Hon. (Alhaji) Muhammad Usman Shege, on August 21, 2026, confirmed the appointment.
Yahaya Idris Toto will oversee media, publicity and strategic communication activities of the campaign council in Toto LG in support of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada.
Media Strategy Takes Centre Stage
The appointment comes at a time political organisations are increasingly relying on strategic communication and digital media to reach voters.
Shege said Yahaya Idris Toto was chosen because of his professional competence, commitment and experience in the attention economy.
He said the appointment was intended to strengthen the campaign’s ability to communicate its messages and programmes effectively to the electorate.
“The choice of Yahaya Idris Toto as Head of Media for Toto LG was based on merit, commitment, expertise and his ability to bring his wealth of experience in the attention economy to bear,” Shege said.
According to the coordinator, the new media structure would play a significant role in projecting the campaign at the grassroots.
Wadada Project Begins Grassroots Mobilisation
Shege said the campaign council had commenced preparations for wider political engagement across Toto Local Government.
He disclosed that political stakeholders, community leaders, youths and other critical groups would be targeted as part of the council’s engagement strategy.
The coordinator said the APC was determined to consolidate its position in Toto Local Government and work towards victory in the 2027 elections.
He also urged eligible citizens who have attained 18 years of age to participate actively in the democratic process.
Shege described Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the best candidate for the Nasarawa governorship race and said his candidacy remained “sellable” to the electorate.
He expressed optimism that the appointment of Yahaya Idris Toto would enhance the campaign council’s media operations and grassroots communication as political activities continue to build towards 2027.
The appointment represents a fresh development in the Wadada Project Campaign Council’s efforts to establish a strong organisational and communication structure in Toto LG.
