Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State have adopted Chief Frank Esiwo Ozue as the party’s consensus candidate for the newly restored Isoko North Constituency II seat in the Delta State House of Assembly.
The decision was reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the residence of the Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, in Erawha-Owhe, Isoko North Local Government Area.
In his welcome remarks, Ukodhiko said Ozue’s emergence followed extensive consultations among party leaders and stakeholders across the constituency.
He urged APC members to turn out in large numbers for the party’s primary election on Saturday to formally affirm Ozue as the party’s candidate.
Ukodhiko also expressed appreciation to APC leaders and stakeholders for their support during the recently concluded party primaries, which produced him and Engr. Orobosa Ashakah as the party’s candidates for the House of Representatives and Delta State House of Assembly respectively.
He commended Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other political leaders for their contributions towards the restoration of Isoko North Constituency II, describing the development as a significant milestone for the people of the constituency.
APC Leaders Rally Behind Ozue
Earlier, the Chairman of the APC in Isoko North, Mr. Sunday Omonakome, said the stakeholders’ meeting was convened to unite party leaders and members behind the choice of candidate and strengthen the party’s preparations for the forthcoming political process.
Following consultations, Chief Frank Esiwo Ozue, a former Vice Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, was formally presented as the APC consensus candidate for the restored constituency.
Party leaders described the development as the beginning of a new political chapter for Isoko North Constituency II, expressing optimism that the constituency would benefit from stronger grassroots representation, inclusive leadership and greater attention to the needs of residents.
Stakeholders Attend Meeting
The meeting attracted prominent APC leaders and stakeholders, including the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme; Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, Prince Godwin Ogorugba; Executive Director, Finance and Administration, DESOPADEC, Chief Kome Oghenekome Reginald Okpobor; Chairman of the Delta State Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Paul Oweh; former Secretary to the Delta State Government, Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay; Chief Emmanuel Erezih; Hon. Jude Ogbimi, as well as other party leaders, stakeholders and supporters.
With Ozue’s emergence, APC leaders said the party had achieved a broad consensus ahead of the primary election, positioning the party to approach the contest with a united political structure in the restored Isoko North Constituency II.
The development is expected to further shape the political landscape in the constituency as preparations intensify for the forthcoming electoral process.
