The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has declared that it has mapped out strategies to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, vowing to mount an inclusive and people-driven campaign across the country.

The party said it is confident of victory following what it described as the growing popularity and governance credentials of its presidential candidate, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

APM National Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Abubakar, disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, ahead of the commencement of campaigns for the 2027 general elections.

Abubakar said the party had established a “very strong and highly efficient campaign machinery,” which would soon be unveiled to the public.

According to him, the APM has embarked on nationwide consultations and forged alliances with opposition parties as part of efforts to mobilise Nigerians and challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polls.

He said the party would not only work to secure victory at the ballot but would also take steps within the law to protect votes cast for its candidate.

“Tomorrow marks the official commencement of campaigns and as a party, I can assure you that we are ready for the task ahead. We have a very popular presidential candidate in Governor Seyi Makinde and we have worked out strategies to ensure that not only do we win the ballot, but also that our winning votes are firmly protected,” Abubakar said.

He added that the party was working to mobilise Nigerians ahead of the election, stressing that credible professionals had been assembled to manage the campaign.

“We are working hard and will leave no stone unturned in our efforts in mobilising Nigerians for this election. We have assembled very credible hands to manage our campaign. We will unveil our campaign machinery to the public soon,” he said.

The APM spokesman further alleged that Nigerians were dissatisfied with the Tinubu administration and were seeking an alternative political platform ahead of 2027.

He described Makinde as a credible alternative, arguing that the Oyo governor had demonstrated governance experience that could be replicated at the federal level.

Abubakar also cited the recent governorship election in Osun State as evidence, in his view, of the influence of voters at the ballot box.

“Come January 2027, Nigerians will speak with one voice for Seyi Makinde,” he declared.

The APM spokesperson called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to ensure that the 2027 general elections are free, fair and credible.

He urged the relevant authorities to guarantee that the outcome of the elections reflects the choice of Nigerians as expressed through their votes.
