Clement Warrie Emerges President as Uyo Senatorial Media Forum Elects New Leaders

Mr. Clement Warrie has emerged President of the Uyo Senatorial District Media Professionals Forum following the election of new officers at the organisation’s 35th Enlarged Meeting.

The election became necessary following the expiration of the tenure of the previous Executive Officers and was conducted in line with the governing provisions of the Forum.

An official announcement issued on Monday, August 17, 2026, said the new leadership is expected to provide effective coordination, continuity and responsible administration of the Forum’s activities.

Warrie will be supported by Mr. Charles Akpan, who was elected Vice President for Uyo Federal Constituency and Deputy President.

The leadership structure also includes Mr. Edet Ikotidem as Vice President, Itu/Ibiono Federal Constituency, and Mr. Edidiong Ita as Vice President, Etinan Federal Constituency.

Hon. Itorobong Umoh was elected Secretary, while Itoro-Etas Iniobong emerged Assistant Secretary.

The financial affairs of the Forum will be handled by Mr. Ukara Effiong, Treasurer, and Mr. Victor Preacher, Financial Secretary.

Mr. Ubon Marcus was elected Spokesperson, while Mr. Victor Ukpong will serve as Director of Contact and Mobilization.

The new leadership also reflects the growing importance of digital communication and new media, with Mr. Destiny Young elected Director of ICT and Mr. Richard Okon as Director of New Media.

Other ICT officers are Mr. Aniekeme John, Deputy Director of ICT, and Iberedem Peter, Deputy Director of ICT, Graphics Design.

Kingsley Edet will serve as Deputy Director of New Media, while Anamati Inyang takes charge as Director of Content.

The Forum also has dedicated directors for ethics, programmes, print media, electronic media, visuals, research and analytics, strategy and other professional areas.

The Board of Trustees/Governing Council congratulated the newly elected officers and urged them to uphold professionalism, integrity, discipline and commitment in the discharge of their duties.

The Board also appealed to members of the Forum to extend their cooperation and support to the new leadership to enable it to achieve the organisation’s objectives.

The new officers are expected to assume their respective responsibilities forthwith.
