Since his assumption of Office, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Chief Servant of Kogi State, has been proving all doubting Thomases wrong about his choice as the Candidate of the Party prior to the election. Governor Ododo has been doting the I’s and crossing the T’s across the 21 Local Government Areas of the State. Not minding the tribe or religion as expected of the State Executive, the Chief Servant of the Confluence State have been carrying everyone along in the scheme of things. This is not just a display of position, it is also the display of Leadership with purpose, precision and commitment to bringing vision to reality.
To mention but a few, Governor Ododo in November 2025 commissioned the first phase of 80 Revitalized Primary Health Centres PHCs across the State to provide 24-hour effective healthcare services to rural communities, approved over ₦7 Billion in March 2024 to rehabilitate 88 PHCs, adding to over 70 others already undergoing renovation.
Oxygen concentrators, mobile X-ray machines, patient monitors, and reliable power sources like solar installations and generators were other essential medical tools to support uninterrupted service delivery. He approved a substantial monthly incentive of ₦300,000 for medical doctors and Launched Health Insurance Programs where ”Access to Care Initiative” was introduced to provide free health insurance for vulnerable populations, including over 76,000 pensioners, local government staff, and students, aiming for universal health coverage among other successes in the Health sector.
Since assuming office on January 27, 2024, Governor Ododo has prioritized the safety and security of the citizens as a cornerstone of his administration. His focus on security has led to increased salaries for local vigilantes and collaboration with federal security agencies, effectively addressing banditry and kidnapping especially in flash areas.
The Governor has invested in education, approving ₦600 million as WAEC fees for over 18,000 senior secondary school students and ₦522 million for other critical examinations. In the agriculture sector, Ododo’s administration has launched initiatives to boost food security, including the “Wet Season Agricultural Intervention Programme” with an investment of over ₦7 billion, benefiting nearly 10,000 farmers across the State.
Over 100 kilometers of roads have been rehabilitated and contracts for an additional 300 kilometers underway. The present administration has also promoted youth empowerment and job creation through innovative programs in entrepreneurship, agriculture, and vocational training.
These and more are the reasons why Kogites should rally round Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to return to the Lugard House come 2027. For the purpose of continuity and completion of projects, it is important we re-elect His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to the Lugard House.
