Homosexual: Violence Erupts in Otolokpo as Youths Torch Residence Linked to Gideon Mariochukwu

Tension has heightened in Otolokpo Kingdom, Ika North East Local Government Area, following the burning of a family house belonging to the relatives of Gideon Mariochukwu, a former staff member of Ika Weekly, who is reportedly being sought by members of the community over allegations surrounding his personal homosexual conduct.
According to sources in the community, angry youths allegedly set the building ablaze after months of growing frustration over Mariochukwu’s continued absence from the area.
A relative of the Mariochukwu family, who spoke to Ika Weekly on condition of anonymity due to security concerns, said the incident reflects rising tensions and impatience among some residents.
“The destruction of the house shows that many people in the community are becoming increasingly agitated over Gideon’s prolonged disappearance,” the source said.
The source further disclosed that members of Mariochukwu’s immediate family had earlier fled the community over fears for their safety following threats and hostility from some youths.
Reports indicate that the incident has further escalated concerns about security and possible breakdown of law and order in the community.
Residents have called for calm and urged relevant authorities, including security agencies and community leaders, to intervene and prevent further violence.
