Kuje Chairman -elect inaugurate 28- members transition C’ttee

The Chairman -elect of Kuje Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Hon Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo has inaugurated a 28 -members transition Committee aimed at ensuring a smooth handover of the outgoing administration to the incoming administration of the council.
The 28 members transition Committee has the former Accountant of the FCT (Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) Ibrahim K Sabo and Sunday Yaro as chairman and respectively.
He said he decided to set-up of the committee whose members are meticulously drawn from the council administration and are reputable members of the public and community leaders.
He said the following term of reference of the committee was to come up with a clear frame work, liase and engage with the outgoing administration of the council for the purpose of a smooth handover/takeover.
He said the committee is also expected to receive the handover documents from the area council and identify key and priorities for the incoming administration, adding that the committee is also to undertake proper verification of all documents and materials to be handed over without compromise.
According to him, the committee is also expected to prepare briefing documents and reports particularly the ‘balance sheet’ of Kuje area council and the LEA with emphasis on status of assets and liabilities of the council and LEA and among others.
“The committee is also expected to ascertain the cash flow of Kuje Area Council and the LEA as well as debt profile and their deployment and outstanding contractual obligations and ability of the area council to meet such obligations,”he said.
According to him, the committee should also assess the staff strengths of both area council and the LEA by ranks, position, location and their financial obligation and among others.
The chairman, while appreciating the stakeholders and leaders of the council for making their time to support the collective efforts, saying their sacrifices and commitment have renewed the needed hope in the APC and proved that the journey to a better Kuje is possible.
He, therefore, gave the committee 21 to be their report and recommendations.
The chairman of the committee, who is also a former accountant of the FCT UBEB, Alhaji Ibrahim K. Sabo, appreciated the chairman -elect for them worthy for assignment and assured him the committee shall discharge their responsibility diligently without any compromise.
Our correspondent further report that the chairman -elect also inaugurated a 20 members inauguration committee of the incoming administration slated June, 14, 2026.
