2027: Gabaya, Chiya wins AMAC/Bwari, Abuja south APC Reps tickets

Two outgoing chairmen of Bwari and Kwali Area Councils of the FCT Hon John Gabaya and Hon Danladi Chiya both won the All Progressives Congress (APC) tickets for the house of representatives for AMAC/Bwari and Abuja south federal constituency in 2027 election respectively.
The chairman of the electoral committee for the party’s house of representatives primaries who is also the returning officer in the election, Dr Lugwa Gbams announced the results around 3:34 :am at the Nicon Luxury Area 11 in Abuja, on Sunday, which was witnessed by representatives of INEC officials, security operatives as well as members of the party’s appeal committee.
Gbams, said Gabaya scored a total of votes 13, 599 to defeat the former house of representatives member for AMAC/Bwari federal constituency Hon Micah Y. Jibah who scored 6, 125 votes alongside eight other aspirants in the primary election.
He said as the electoral committee chairman and returning officer in the election, John Gabaya, haven scored the highest numbers of votes and satisfied with the requirements of law is hereby declared the winner of the party’s primary election for AMAC/Bwari house of representatives election.
He also declared Hon Danladi Chiya, as winner of the party’s primary election for Abuja south house representatives after he polled 14,304 votes to defeat the incumbent house of representatives member for Abuja south Hon Abdulrahman Ajiya who scored 1,122 votes alongside two other aspirants, Hon Abubakar Jibrin Giri and Dr Musa Yahaya Muhammad who got 93 and 1,254 votes respectively.
Dr Gbams, said Chiya, haven scored the highest of votes and has met with the requirements of the law has been declared winner of the APC house of representatives primary for Abuja south federal constituency.
Our correspondent report that the primaries election which held across the four area councils comprised of Abuja south, was through direct primary mode.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Kwali Area Council has appreciated APC stakeholders and supporters for their unflinching support given to him to emerge as the party’s flag bearer for Abuja south in 2027 election.
He said will not disappoint them if he given the mandate to represent at the national assembly in 2027, saying he will ensure that the voices of the people of Abuja south area heard at the national assembly.
Chiya, also appreciated President Bola Ahmed, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and both national and State officials of the APC for creating a level playing ground that ensured he emerge at the primaries.
