Prominent stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State have passionately urged residents across the 11 electoral wards in Zones A, B, and C to bury the hatchet of political animosity and throw their weight solidly behind the current leadership from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the centre, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo at the state level, down to local council executives, insisting that such ironclad support remains the only guaranteed route to maximizing the dividends of democracy cascading from all tiers of government in the ongoing administration.
The Kogi LG Political Think Tank, comprising a formidable array of political heavyweights drawn from diverse shades of opinion within the APC fold, converged on a pivotal meeting in Koton-Karfe on Sunday to hammer home this clarion call, stressing that the well-attended gathering was not just timely but absolutely essential in enlightening the masses on the imperative of sustaining unwavering backing for these incumbent helmsmen at national, state, and local government levels, thereby guaranteeing seamless continuity in the execution of transformative governance and development initiatives that are already reshaping the socio-economic landscape and touching lives across the area in profound ways.
Speaking exclusively to newsmen shortly after the epoch-making session, the Chairman of the Kogi LG Political Think Tank and a frontline APC chieftain, Hon. Isah Abubakar Ada-Abu Odariko – who doubles as the Local Government Assistant to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, disclosed that he had come under tremendous pressure from party loyalists, community elders, and grassroots mobilizers to lead the charge in galvanizing support for the re-election bids of President Tinubu, Governor Ododo, memember representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Suleiman Danladi Aguye, the lawmaker for Koton-Karfe in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Idrees Aliyu Maikudi, as well as the Executive Chairman of Kogi LG, Hon. Abdulmalik Musa, hailing their stewardship as a rare divine endowment not only to Kogi LG but to the entire Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
Painting a vivid picture of their exceptional track records, Ada-Abu Odariko extolled the leaders’ proven capacities, unbridled commitment, and selfless service to humanity, while issuing a no-holds-barred warning to agents of discord and mischief-makers plotting to sow seeds of division through insidious divide-and-rule tactics to immediately cease and desist or face the consequences of repentance, as such sabotage would only derail the collective march towards progress and prosperity in the area.
He underscored the APC’s hallmark inclusivity as a big tent party that accommodates divergent views, opens doors of opportunity for service, and duly rewards high performers with fresh mandates to deliver even more, using Hon. Idrees Aliyu Maikudi as a shining exemplar whose legislative interventions have brought electricity to hitherto dark communities in Koton-Karfe communities, thereby building on and amplifying the developmental strides pioneered by Governor Ododo at the state level.
Delving deeper into Maikudi’s scorecard, the think tank chairman highlighted the assemblyman’s compassionate interventions, including the clearance of medical bills for countless indigent patients at various health facilities, sponsorship of WAEC, NECO, and JAMB examination fees for hundreds of underprivileged students, creation of job openings for idle youths, and comprehensive empowerment schemes targeting women, young people, and the elderly, all of which have injected real relief, renewed hope, and tangible upliftment into the lives of thousands of families across Kogi LG, positioning him as a true people’s representative worthy of renewed trust.
