2027: 10,000 Kogi Voters Relocate to Okene in Solidarity with Tinubu, Yahaya Bello
…..Group hails ex-governor for ‘liberating’ them from political bondage, installing Ododo
No fewer than 10,000 registered voters from Kogi Local Government Area in Kogi State have transferred their voting units to Okene Local Government Area to support President Bola Tinubu and former Governor Yahaya Bello.
The decision, announced by the group’s spokesperson, is a gesture of honour and appreciation to Mr Bello, who hails from Okene in Kogi Central Senatorial District, for his developmental strides and role in installing the current Governor, Usman Ododo.
The spokesperson, who spoke on behalf of the voters, said the move symbolises their gratitude to the former governor for “liberating them from political bondage” and bringing unprecedented development to their communities.

“Until former Governor Yahaya Bello assumed office, we never truly understood the meaning of democracy,” the spokesperson stated.” Today, we are not only free, but we marvel at the development we now enjoy under the same democratic system that existed before.”
Mallam Musa Ishaq, leader of the APC Concerned Group spearheading the vote transfer, described the action as solidarity with “the living hero of Kogi State’s democratic experiment. He said:
“We are also doing this singular gesture for the former Governor for giving Kogites Governor Ododo.” This gesture to move our votes to Kogi Central is in solidarity with the living hero of Kogi State’s democratic experiment, former Governor Yahaya Bello.

“We know that without our votes he will win handsomely in 2027, but we want to be fully involved in the future success of the former Governor and to show him that as citizens we are ready and determind.”
“The group also expressed appreciation to Mr Bello for what they called “the best gift ever of the new year, in Gov. Ododo,” while congratulating Governor Ododo on his birthday.
